WHAT A MONTH

It all started with a wonderful trip to Utah for Ambrea (my sister’s) wedding. We started our grand adventure on Tuesday the 28th of April. The drive was pretty uneventful and we made excellent time. Joel found a way to augment his “stomach problems” into the car’s combustion chamber creating a virtual “afterburner.” I had no idea our van was capable of those speeds. The only downside was the potent exhaust. Joel’s family hosted an ice cream party for the extended family to come and say hi to us all that night. For the next few days we ran around preparing for the upcoming wedding, and in our off time we had fun with my family. Joel had the opportunity to go and lose some golf balls in a nicely mowed grassy area, and I got to go shopping with my mom and sister. We went to a home décor store and I found some great items that help fill up all the empty voids in the house. On Friday night we attended the Wedding dinner. It was great seeing all my family there and a couple of Derek’s. It was fun seeing how Ambrea meshed with the Walkingeagle’s (Derek’s family, from the name I am sure you have deduced that they are Native American). Saturday was the big day. It came and went way to quick. We went to the temple that morning with Katrina, Mom and Dad, and Brandon and Janelle. The wedding was held at Cedar Hills Golf Course which overlooks the valley below. The scene was beautiful as was the decorations and my sister. It was great seeing the crowd of people gathered on top of the hill. Some had a hard time finding the course, so I told Derek to start a smoke signal then everyone came. The music started and the family began walking down the isle. I sent then my cute little flower girls and then my cute little ring boy. Joel escorted me, and finally Ambrea came. The ceremony was beautiful and everything was perfect…it just seemed a little awkward when the golf carts drove by and occasional scream of “fore!” and I really wish my dad would have not tried to tee off to the first hole from the stage during the ceremony. The reception directly followed and went really good. I was a little taken back when the wedding dance consisted of drums, big feathers, and chanting though j/k.

The next day we traveled to Disneyland with Joel’s family. Again the ride down was uneventful, which is a very good thing. Disneyland was great. The weather was nice and cool and my kids really enjoyed themselves. We also made some unforgettable memories, which is the whole reason we go. The sights there are so pretty, with the awesome castle, mountains, wonderfully themed areas, beautiful ships, characters, and the best sight of all…my throw up floating down the rivers of America. Leave it to me to get sick (and then Kalee and Joel) during a vacation. Luckily I felt better after. We had a 3 day park hopper, and really did have a good time regardless of the way our stomach’s felt. I was very impressed with all the rides the girls were brave enough to go on. Kalee loved the Indiana Jones ride, and I just could not believe that Lily went on Tower of Terror! Her face was priceless. She did make the comment that she did not want to go on it again though. We spent the next few days touring L.A.. We went to the beach, saw some famous people’s houses, saw Biff’s, Lorains, and George’s house from Back to the Future, the walk of fame, Kodak theater, and the Chinese theater. On Saturday we drove the 6 hours back to our house, which was a good feeling. Vacations are awesome, but for some reason it just always feels so good to be home.

Lily had her Birthday on the 16th. She had a great birthday surprise from our good friends the Hansen’s. They decided to come and visit us on their way to Disneyland. Lily decided that she wanted to have her birthday at Chuck-e-cheese. The kids loved playing together and I loved seeing my friend kris. I really wish they lived here too. Lily also got to celebrate her birthday at Great Grandma Bragg’s house. She put on a great party for the girls, with fishing for presents, pin the tail on the donkey, and other fun games. The girls really like going to see Grandma, we are lucky she is so close.

Yesterday Joel and I had our first date in almost a year and a half. It was great for about 30 minutes until we got a call from the babysitter saying that Lily tripped and knocked out her front tooth. She is sooooo out of control. We felt so bad for her.

This month has really just flown by. I am really looking forward to this summer when I can relax more during the day and not have to play school bus for Kalee. I am looking forward to all the fun games and activities I get to do with my kids.

It's Been a While

Time is a funny thing. It seems to get faster as I get older. It is a bittersweet thing watching my kids grow and develop thier own personalities. On one hand it makes me so happy that they are all healthy and growing, on the other, my babies are turning into giant monsters who never stop eating, pooping, whining, and making the house messy. Joel made the comment to me how cute Lily was when she was sleeping, just not when she destroys everything nice in the house. I love my kids more then anything, they are such little blessings to me, even though it sometimes is tough to recognize that.


As you all know, I am now the primary choiraster...enough said. Most of you that know me well also know that I am not what you would call, musically gifted. In fact I am about as far from that as you can get, Joel compares my singing to that of a young Tonto, or perhaps Frankenstien. This is probably the biggest challenge I have faced in the church yet, but maybe thats why I am called to do it. I have had to learn how to lead and am trying my very best. Everyone here is being very supportive and each week gets better, the rotten fruit the kids throw at me is a little tuff to get out a church clothes, but with a little elbow grease it comes out. Joel is being very supportive and has helped me alot (after he stopped laughing for a week at my first attempt to lead the music). He keeps on offering to ask the Bishop if I could practice in front of the congregation. Other than that, I finally got rid of something that has been beating me up inside...my gall bladder. Yipee! I feel sooooo much better. I can get back to my triple back handsprings with a double twist I have been practicing. The whole process was a huge nightmare and it did not give me much confidence in the hospital here, but they got it out just fine and now it is displayed on top of our TV in the living room so that I will always remeber that no matter what Joel does, somethings are worse. Just kidding about the displayed gall bladder, that would be gross, besides it just does not fit in next to the bird I hit a week ago.


Joel is doing good and has been flying quite often, atleast when the jets dont break. He still misses the feeling of the smaller airplanes, but has fun when he gets to fly the 500,000 pound bohemuth. I am still waiting for him to take some pictures so I can get them on here.


Kalee has been a busy girl. She and Lily has recently started Gymnastics in Vacaville. Both girls love it and we think Lily has found her niche. The teachers are having a hard time keeping her off the uneven bars and containing her unending energy reserve, but she is such a little cutie pie. Kalee was recently the Star Student at school. She had her profile set up in the classroom and got to take home buddy bear. At the end of the week we sent back a journal of what she did with the bear that week. I think the parade the city threw for her was a bit much though. She is getting so big and is really getting good at school and all that learning stuff. On friday we went to her barn dance and had a hee hawin' good time. It was so cute wacthing her do her little dances and singing those ole classics like "skip to my lou." She didn't even care that her dancing partner Angelo who she adores was a full foot shorter then her, she just likes the younger men like me.



Lily is still the same mischevious, energetic handfull she has always been. It is so difficult to discipline her when she is just so dang cute. The other day we were all sitting on the couch and Lily noticed Kalee was having some difficulty picking her nose and getting it off of her fingers. She just looked at her with a very serious face and said "no, no Kalee you do it like this." She demonstrated to her the whole pick and roll technique and even said "when you are done you flick it like this." Joel and I were in tears from laughing so hard, even though it was so disgusting.

Clark is a growin weed as well, but now he's a walkin' little weed. Finally! He still crawls alot becuase it is much faster for him, and he still gets way excited when he stands up. Clark has also developed a love of the show "Sunrise Earth." He will sit there forever just staring at it. We have one episode with a moose on it and he just doesnt even move...he is mezmorized by a moose eating in a river.



Yesterday we took the girls to the train museum. It pretty much was a giant waste of money (what a horrible museum). They only had a few trains (which were all the same) and a couple little models. The best part was the gift shop. The girls did get to ride a train which they enjoyed, but the scenery consisted of a few windmills and a old church out in the distance. There were a few kids who were the volunteer "conductors." You could tell that they most likely were not part of the "cool" crowd in high shcool. I guess that is the nice way to call them huge dorks.

Sooooo Much To tell!

It has been awhile since I last posted. Here is what our FAM has been up to. Presidents day weekend The Kids, great Grandma Bragg and I went to Utah. The kids loved playing in the snow with Grandpa and cousin Nico. The kids were so sad to leave all the cousins, Grandpa’s and Grandma’s behind. We had a great visit. I through my mom a 50th Birthday party Surprise. It was a hit my mom was so surprised I thought she was in shock. I did a wonderful job planning it I do say so myself. Thanks to My Aunt Debra's, Shana, my sisters and brothers help and my dads credit card. Unfortunately I got sick again, yes it's my gallstones. I was lucky that it didn't start until after my moms surprise party. I am scheduled to get my gallbladder out on Friday march 21st (finally). I have been busy getting my house decorated. I painted Clark’s room baby blue; I am working on the girl’s room and the living room. It takes so much time to decorate a house but I love doing it. I t makes me feel so good that I am doing it by myself. We also sold Joel’s car (his baby). We know it is in good hands. When it drove away it was really sad. We loved that car. We now have a 96 Mitsubishi eclipse that’s red with the lowest miles I have ever seen. We got a great deal thanks to Great Grandma Bragg. She is so awesome and we love her. I had the oppurtunity to do a sim with Joel it was really cool to see what he has been doing. gosh there were so many buttons. I did really well I thought until I found out that Joel was helping me a lot most of the time. I am so proud of him it takes a lot of work to be a pilot I could never do what he does. He is amazing and I love him very much for all he does for our family. Joel Had his first flight in the kc-10 he said it was very long and boring the only cool part was refueling a c-5 and that he got to go close to Hawaii and see the ocean. so far he is not liking the kc-10 as much as he hoped. He thinks it will get better once he is completely out of pilot training. But as of this point he will not be doing another tour of the kc-10. That’s about it folks we have had a pretty boring month. If I am feeling better after my surgery which happens to be over Kalee’s spring break then we will be doing something fun.

Where Does the Time Go?

Its almost depressing watching your kids grow up so fast right before your eyes. I was looking through baby pictures of Kalee and Lily and just cant believe what they have changed into. Joel and I are excited for our future and having wonderful experiences with the kids as they grow up, but jease, why does it happen so fast?

About a week ago Joel took the Girls to the Jelly Belly Factory here in Fairfield to see the tour. The girls had an awesome time! They loved all the colors and the elaborate decorations all made out of Jelly Beans. Lily gave herself exclusive access when she decided that she did not need to heed the roped off areas and climed into the Jelly Belly motorcycle. The girls were in awe of how they made the beans and several other forms of gummy candy, as well as their favorite choclate treats. Joel was surprised that they kept on their required headgear for the length of the tour. At the end of the tour there was a tasting station where they got to taste ever flavor of Jelly Belly. Of course the girls did not like some of them, but they sure thought that some of the flavors were hilarious. Joel also let them go to the wall of Jelly's and pick which flavors they wanted to buy and take home. We still have left over Jelly Beans.

Last sunday we went down to Grandma Bragg's house for dinner and decided to celebrate Clark's 1st birthday a little early. It was so cute how Grandma got little games ready for the kids to play, like fishing and clothspin drop. The Girls absolutely love going over there. We had a great dinner and after had cake and icecream. Clark had his own cupcake and liked it quite a bit.

Life here is still going good. We just bought new couches to fill the empty family room and are piecing the rest of the decorations together as we go. My days go bye to fast as most of it seems to be taking and picking up Kalee from school. She loves her new class and is doing much better here then in Del Rio. I am taking Lily this week to do a trial run on a dance class for her. We'll see how that goes. They are so different that I am sure Lily wont freeze on stage like her sister. Lily also has been asking for a haircut but apparently did'nt like the answer I gave her of "maybe later." So, one day after school, she snooped through Kalee's backpack and found her safety scissors and gave herself a new doo. I of course after getting over my frustration and dissapointment fixed it that night. She will still need to get it done professionally somtime soon.
